Training objective
The aim of the training is to provide you with the skills needed to operate forklifts safely and efficiently and to work in internal logistics tasks. The training focuses on practical forklift driving and safe working practices.
After completing the training, you can apply your skills in internal logistics tasks.

Would you like to learn new skills, change careers or find work in internal logistics? In the Forklift Operator Evening Training, you will learn to operate forklifts safely and efficiently through practical training. The evening schedule also makes it possible to study alongside daytime work.

Qualification unit to be completed
Operating material handling equipment and working as a forklift driver, 25 cp
What will you learn?
During the training, you will learn, among other things, to operate
• a reach truck
• a counterbalance forklift
• a stacker truck
• a powered pallet truck
• and to drive safely and efficiently.
Cards and qualifications
During the training, you can complete the Occupational Safety Card (training is in Finnish, but test can be taken in English) as well as First Aid 1 and Emergency First Aid training.
Toteutus
How the training is delivered
The training is held in the evenings from 16:00 to 20:00. Most of the training consists of practical exercises in the school’s forklift training facilities (TTS, Nuolikuja 6, 01740 Vantaa).
The training will be organised subject to a sufficient number of participants.

Training-specific admission requirements
Applicants are required to have
• a minimum age of 18 years
• the physical functional capacity required for logistics work
• Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to study in the programme and communicate both orally and in writing.

Selection criteria
Applicants are selected on the basis of the application and an interview. Interviews are conducted already during the application period. Student selection assesses the applicant’s ability to complete the training and suitability for the work tasks targeted by the training.
Application assessment
Complete the application as carefully and comprehensively as possible. Describe your previous education and work history, your motivation for the field, why you believe you are suited to the field, your goals after the training, and any other factors that support your application for the training.
Applications are assessed using the same assessment criteria for all applicants. The assessment takes into account, among other things,
• motivation for the training and the field
• need for the training and career goals
• completeness and justification of the application
• previous education, work experience and other competence.
The application may be scored as part of the pre-selection process. Based on the application score, some applicants may be invited to the next stage of the selection process.
Interview
The interview assesses, among other things,
• motivation and interest in the field
• commitment to the training
• understanding of the field and its work tasks
• study readiness
• responsibility and working-life skills
• goals after the training.
The same assessment criteria are used for evaluating applications and interviews.
Assessment of language proficiency
Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to participate in the training and communicate both orally and in writing.
Language proficiency may be assessed, if necessary, based on the application, interview and/or a separate language assessment.
The minimum requirement is the ability to communicate in English well enough to follow the training, understand instructions and interact in study and work-related situations.
